We know that most jobs (76% of them) are found by way of networking. We teach networking skills and have written five books on networking. During the last recession we wondered if people who had been laid off realized the importance of networking. So we interviewed 215 people who had been laid off, asking them: "What do you wish you had done BEFORE you got laid off?" We wanted to see if most of them said: "I wish I had built a good business network!" Well, many of them did say that.
