During the last recession we did some research.

We know that most jobs (76% of them) are found by way of networking.  We teach networking skills and have written five books on networking.  During the last recession we wondered if people who had been laid off realized the importance of networking.  So we interviewed 215 people who had been laid off, asking them: "What do you wish you had done BEFORE you got laid off?"   We wanted to see if most of them said: "I wish I had built a good business network!"   Well, many of them did say that.  AND we discovered 4 other major areas  that they said they wished they had paid attention to.

So we had to write another book.  Originally called "How to FireProof Your Career," now it is available as "Futurize Your Career."   We have kept up our research and so have added 5 audios as extra bonuses.  And a Career Security Profile - to see how bad a layoff would affect you and your family.  And a Job Risk Assessment - to see how fragile your current job situation really is.   And a Master Mind plan - to encourage collaboration with colleagues who might be in the same boat.  And an Action Plan - with all the action items from all the chapters summarized in one place.  Lots of support.

Why have we done this?  We had these interviews - the voices of experience - and had to share them with you in these turbulent times.   After all, a job feeds you, but a career sustains you.

You see the news. You know we are entering some hard times.  Many people are already having hard times.  Maybe you.  Truth is: we are in a Recession.  It could become a Depression. In February and again in March there were more layoffs than in any month in 5 years.  Why? Sending jobs overseas, the housing crisis, too much debt, the falling dollar, the credit crunch. It’s a mess and it will only get worse before it gets better.

But you and your family do not have to suffer, do not have to lose your home; you don’t have to cancel your child’s college plans.  You may need a larger perspective on your place in the economy; you may need new job skills; you definitely need to know the career protection skills we have uncovered.  So you can plan ahead to take charge of your career.  Then if you are laid off, you will have a plan in operation and you will know what to do.  And if you are not laid off, you will be much more confident about managing your own career.  You’ll be able to get a better job faster – any time you want.

Our solution to this national mega-problem (perhaps your personal problem) was to update the best-seller we published during the last recession and get this new e-book, “Futurize Your Career,” to you now, before things get worse.  The sooner you put these proven ideas to work for you, the less likely you are to get caught by a “surprise” pink slip as your job disappears.

Why is this e-book the best?  It is the best because it is based on real research.  You see we asked 215 hard-working Americans who had suddenly found themselves laid off a very simple question.  We wanted to know: “What do you wish you had done BEFORE you got laid off?”  They talked with us; they poured their hearts out to us. “If only I had done this” and “if only I had done that.”   Their hind-sight can become your fore-sight, because we turned their hundreds of answers into a straight-forward 5-part breakthrough plan that you can act on today to save the future of your career.

Why did we want to ask them that question anyway: “What do you wish you had done BEFORE you got laid off?” Well, some of our other research had shown that most good new jobs that people get are found by way of networking. And we wanted to find out if after people got laid off they wished that they had had a good network. (We publish another book called “Make Your Contacts Count” which is all about how to build and use a network.) So we didn’t give a hint; we didn’t ask: “Do you wish you had a good network before you got laid off?” We made it so they could say whatever popped into their heads.

In fact, one area of “wishing” was about having a good network. But we found another 4 critical areas that were important to people when they thought about their job security. So we did some more research to come up with the 5-part plan in this e-book, each part addressing one of these vital aspects of career protection.

We want you to benefit from the experience of those 215 people in our survey who were laid off. We’re asking you to invest $34.95 in your future. Only $34.95. If you were not born into wealth, then your career is your future. Knowing how to take charge of it, nurture it and protect it is crucial. When you apply the 5 proven strategies in this book, you will receive lasting career security and peace of mind.

We’ll even encourage you with some BONUSES, NINE of ‘em!
